His StoryThe Life of the Party
Being home-schooled on boats in the Florida Keys, and then moving all the way up to Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands for high school was a shock for a young man. Dean Kosage was pretty wild in high school. He loved sports and entertaining and throwing parties; but on the flip side, by his senior year and entering college, when most of his friends were escaping their parents and cutting loose, Dean was starting his own restaurant and making music videos.
He Was Ready
So when approached by attorney Mark Boyson, while still in college, to talk about some business projects, he was ready. “I didn’t know if I could build this business, or more important if I knew enough people to make it. After seeing Brad Duncan show the Independent Business Ownership Plan, however, I realized my success would come through my ability to plug into World Wide Group system and all the new mentors available to me in my upline. The next few years were going to pass by anyway, and I had no better place to spend them. I had to realize being single was going to make this journey easier, not harder, and to stop using being single as a crutch. Some of the fastest Emeralds and Diamonds had been single. What kept shining through was that people here were very successful and also had a lot of fun.”
Freedom at 23
One-and-a-half years into the business, Dean achieved Silver, and then two months later the Ruby level, then into Emerald qualification. As you can imagine, this was a whirlwind of excitement and growth. When Dean’s income had surpassed most of his friends’ parents’ income, he was able to retire from his day-to-day job at the age of twenty-three. “People just don’t get it … being able to leave the workforce comes from a solid ongoing income, not your age. Freedom at such a young age is surreal, but real it is. Amway Global and World Wide Group have improved things so much; I can honestly say it’s a better deal now then when I first got in.”
In the last two years, Dean’s business has grown more than since his business was started. After doing research, Dean proved to himself that the percentage chance of him succeeding at this business (despite the naysayers) was higher than anything else out there. “I just had to do some (real) research vs. tripping across a few negative websites or falling for the uninformed opinions of my friends.”
Nothing Motivates Like Freedom
As Dean became free financially he was able to return to some of his passions: film and music. Some of the projects he has worked on over the past few years have included funding new movies and helping artists cut or remix their latest CDs. In this process he has been asked to be a “life coach” to some of today’s well-known stars. “The mentorship skills I gained while building my business have quickly transcended the industry,” Dean says.
“Today I am excited about taking my adventures abroad, such as playing with friends in Barcelona, Spain, sitting on the fan-tail of a yacht in Monte Carlo, or making a film in Prague. It’s time to taste life!”
What motivates Dean is freedom. He has the freedom to raise his daughter, Teagan, as a single parent and do it first class—whether that is hiring a private teacher to disciple her, or traveling around the world with her. He’s teaching his daughter that nothing compares to being a dreamer and empowering others. “Our motto is, I help big people, she helps little people.”
Significant Results
“World Wide Group has a fabulous mentorship program in place, with people who have a proven track record of achieving significant results. It’s rare to meet someone who has hit a home run financially and even rarer if that person also has control of his time.” Dean knows that anyone can be a superstar in this business and make a difference, not just a living. He knows this because by age twenty-three, he was able to become financially independent.
Following in Footsteps
That’s why today Dean follows in the footsteps of his upline, tackling the process of helping others become Emeralds and Diamonds. “There’s nothing quite like helping people get free. I want people to play with and make a difference with, and right now most people’s intentions to do good is currently being masked by a lack of control of time or money. This is the most fun, flexible, exit-strategy you will ever find. What could be better than business ownership with help?”
“A lot of people have the heart of a champion but haven’t found a way to put it into action in their own lives. Freedom is real and is up to each person, but with this internet-based business opportunity, champions are offered a way to win.”
New Talent
“To attract impact players, you must have a Superbowl to win in the future with some starting positions still open. Generation X & Y are now realizing that this business is the way to make the income of the athletes and people in the entertainment industry, without the potential negatives.” Dean cannot wait to meet some of the new talent that is being attracted to this business around the world.
“The bottom line is this business has worked for me. It’s the most level playing field I’ve ever seen, but you must have the courage to launch. It’s a common trait among all great leaders.”
